Enjoyed the story. Harper and Addison shared an entente kiss in high school that altered their lives for 20 years. While trying to be “normal” Addison got pregnant with Brook who she basically raised on her own while going to college on line. Meantime, Harper left her home town for college and never looked back. She became a vet just like her father and raising a daughter of her own, Eden, in Denver where she has a thriving practice unfortunately with her ex, V, who is a B.....!Harper’s father had a heart attack and has to rest up and recover. Harper has to return to Blueridge where she has to work with the clinic’s vet tech Addison.So it begins. The push/pull of unresolved love from high school and now grownup love.The book was well done. The plot was well developed. I enjoyed it. All the elements are here for this to be a wonderful book but both characters came off very immature for a lot of the book and were constantly changing their minds about what they wanted. One min she is going to sell her part of her practice and in the next chapter she is definitely not going to sell. Then she is ready to sell again but no she will never sell..... Then what she decides to do near the end of the book is totally laughable. As a strong independent female I would not want anyone to line up my future plans for me without any prior discussion no matter how much I loved them. Both of the main characters children came off more believable than they did.
